Introduction to new articles

Laser thermal processing simultaneously enhances the hardness, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility of martensitic stainless steel

image
The laser thermal processing technique significantly improved the corrosion resistance of martensitic stainless steel (420J2) and hardened it to the highest level. Furthermore, it was confirmed that this process improves the problem of inhibition of osteoblast-like cell proliferation associated with initial corrosion reactions, resulting in biocompatibility comparable to that of titanium.
