A Solvent-Driven Route to Self-Healing, Shape-Memory, and Crack-Resistant Biphasic Gels
We developed polymerization-induced solvent phase separation (PI-SPS), a one-pot method for creating biphasic gels from two immiscible liquids. These gels exhibit self-healing, shape-memory behavior, and high crack resistance without complex molecular design or additives. Applicable to water, organic solvents, and ionic liquids, the method is expected to enable broad applications across diverse fields.
