Apparent nonreciprocal transport in FeSe bulk crystals
NIMS author(s)
Introduction to new articles
Nonreciprocal transport is a phenomenon where electrical resistance differs for positive and negative currents. The authors observed behavior that appears to be nonreciprocal transport in FeSe single crystals. However, detailed examination revealed that this is not intrinsic nonreciprocal transport, but rather a pseudo effect induced by heat generation at the terminals due to the large thermoelectric effect of FeSe. It highlights the difficulty and importance of distinguishing between intrinsic nonreciprocal transport and pseudo effect due to thermoelectric effects.
