A latest review paper has been published in Applied Physics Reviews. Metasurfaces are surveyed with stressing the practical potential. Among the applications, metasurface biosensors are addressed and, in particular, metasurface fluoresence (FL) biosensors are detailed for the first time in review papers. The metasurface FL biosensors are explicitely described as a powerful biosensing tool, being one of the best candidates for the next-generation biosensors.
