Introduction to new articles
We present ultranarrow germanene nanoribbons composed of pentagonal rings via thermal treatment of germanium clusters onto Ag(111) at 300 K. High-resolution scanning tunneling microscopy and field-effect resonant tunneling spectra supported by ab initio calculations reveal the structure and work function of GeNRs, which is moderately higher than that of pristine Ag(111).
