Introduction to new articles
Lithium-air batteries realize ultra-lightweight & high-capacity batteries. However, the extremely low power output and short cycle life make the device development challenging. To enhance battery power, we explored electrolytes enabling smooth transport of oxygen and lithium ions. By devising a cell structure that suppresses electrolytes volatilization, we succeeded in simultaneously improving current rate and discharge-charge cycles. This demonstrates that battery power and cycle life can be improved concurrently, presenting a new approach toward developing practical lithium-air batteries.
